    Hi Florin great question.
I LOVE martial arts because I get to have fun learning all of the exciting things that is apart of martial arts. I feel like I am flying when I flip, and I feel strong like Superman. Martial arts also keeps me in shape, and has gave me confidence to do things like speak infront of an audience, or perform infront of people. It has made me mature faster, because I learned respect at very young age. I have learned how to be a performer, which has made me more outgoing. In a general sense martial arts has just made me who I am today, and I am proud to call myself a martial artist!

I started martial arts when I was 6 and now I'm 14 and a 2nd degree black belt. I love martial arts because you can always improve and learn new tricks and techniques. It's also super fun to perform and compete.

Hi I'm Taylor. This is an awesome question! I started martial arts when I was 9 years old and now I'm 15 years old, a 2011 state champion, 3rd degree black belt, and level 1 certified instructor. I love martial arts because of a couple of reasons. I love competing-I love showing off what I can do. Not everyone is in martial arts and they think it is really cool when you perform. And I also meet alot of friends at the competitions! We stay in touch and are friends for life :) You also make your friends at the karate school your family! You see them all the time and are really close. One last reason- I love teaching what I love to do. I love seeing the kids, getting to know them, and teaching them what I am good at. If I didn't have martial arts, I'm not sure what I would be doing.

Because it is one of the few things I can do and feel like I am breathing; not just going through the motions that will get my lungs some oxygen ... It's like a language of it's own, one that represents life and all that's in it, a language that can not be misunderstood. The strange part is that it came from within us and yet we struggle maybe even fail at extending the spirit of martial arts in all we do.

It has definitely changed me. In the 3rd grade, I was bullied by a boy in my class. I told my teachers and they wouldn't do anything. I wanted to handle it myself, but I didn't know how to. I decided to kick him anyway, even though I knew I would get in trouble. Martial arts has given me the confidence to stand up, if someone is bullying me. Because of being so confident, I won an award from my instructor,"Most Confident."
  • I live for martial arts and I love it because there's always something to reach 4 whether its a trophy or a belt. Its given me alot more confidence and changed me into a more energetic positive person. Its great because I'm not into any really usual sports except maybe football and my size gives me a leg up in martial arts so I'm gonna keep training and hopefully one day I'll b a hyper martial artists
  • I started karate when I was 9 and can not stop. If I'm not doing anything, I have to do something related to the martial arts. I drive my friends insane during gym class because I'm always doing some kind of kick or combination during our small free times. I've made amazing friends at my karate school with my classmates and instructors. Karate has gone from just an after school hobby to a passion. I think that the best part about karate is passing it on to the next generation of black belts. When they finally do a kick right and come up to me and say, "Look what I can do!" I am constantly reminded of how I felt when I was their belt. It keeps me going. I love the martial arts and I don't know what I would do without it.
